19-year-old Lucas Schweitzer had his first encounter with the criminal justice system Monday, when his mother searched him for drugs, found cocaine and Xanax, and was assaulted during the process.

In the pre-dawn hours of Monday morning, Lucas Schweitzer’s mother was unable to locate her 19-year-old son in their East Nashville home, so she went outside to look for him. She found Lucas walking down the street, and was able to catch up with him. She then searched her teenage son and found a small baggy containing what was later verified as 0.3 grams of cocaine and a Xanax ‘bar’.

As she was taking the drugs from her son, he reportedly grabbed her wrist with enough force to leave two bruises that officers could still see upon arrival.
