Goodlettsville Police located a bag hidden in the groin area inside of Mitchell Bassett’s pants, containing 48 grams of heroin among 8 bags, 46 grams of crystal meth in two bags, 1.2 grams of cocaine, and 1.6 grams of marijuana.
Someone at the Motel 6 in Goodlettsville called police to report possible drug activity in a car in the parking lot at 1:40 a.m. Wednesday morning. Police responded and made contact with the vehicle occupants, one of which was 35-year-old Mitchell James Bassett. A syringe was observed in plain view, so he was asked to step out of the vehicle to speak with the officer, and the officer notes a strong smell of marijuana about his person.
As a search was done of his person, the officer located a bag hidden in the groin area of his pants, which contained 48 grams of heroin among 8 bags, 46 grams of crystal meth in two bags, 1.2 grams of cocaine, and 1.6 grams of marijuana. Also on his person, was $2,465 in U.S. currency. Inside the vehicle, a black canvas was found, containing Bassett’s identification, a digital scale, and multiple empty baggies. Bassett was charged with possession with intent of meth (26-299 grams) – $40,000 bond, possession with intent cocaine (.5+ grams) – $40,000 bond, possession with intent of heroin (15-149 grams) – $40,000 bond, possession – $1,000 bond, and drug paraphernalia possession – $1,000 bond. He is jailed on a $122,000 bond in a restricted housing unit.
