3 FIRED for brutal assault of tourist in early June at a downtown bar

Earlier this month we reported on the brutal assault of a sick patron of Tequila Cowboy (which was listed as Jason Aldean’s Bar by MNPD and is under the same management group/location). We can now confirm that 3 employees have been terminated as a result of the brutal assault of a patron that continued even after staff handcuffed him while he was on the floor, eventually sending him to the hospital after Metro Police say the staff detained the man illegally while beating him.

TC Restaurant group provided the following statement:

We are terribly sorry that an incident occurred with one of our patrons early Sunday morning – it’s absolutely unacceptable. We immediately terminated employment with three employees and are actively examining best practices to ensure that these types of incidents don’t occur again. Our patrons understand that our establishment is a friendly, welcoming atmosphere and we are deeply saddened that this incident occurred. We are investigating the matter and are cooperating fully with law enforcement. We look forward to announcing new initiatives in the days ahead to improve our operations.

We were able to confirm two of the terminated individuals as Trevor Ault (arrested by MNPD) and Guy Coers (cited by MNPD), but the third name was not provided.
