Security at The Southern Steak & Oyster downtown asked an apparent intoxicated Colton Calloway to leave their restaurant Saturday night. He refused, so they assisted his exit. Once on the sidewalk near 3rd / Demonbreun, police say he started yelling racial slurs at people on the street.
After security from the restaurant escorted 32-year-old Calloway to the sidewalk outside the restaurant, they flagged down officers working the nearby Monster Jam, who took note of Calloway as he yelled racial slurs at the public walking by on the sidewalk in a heavily trafficked area on a Saturday night. Police say he also attempted to fight the people walking by.
When officers asked him if he would leave the area, he began to curse at them, according to an arrest report. As he yelled expletives at the officer they observed the odor of alcohol coming from his breath and other indicators of intoxication. After determining he was a risk to himself or others if left alone on the sidewalk and given an option to leave on his own, Colton Calloway was taken into custody and charged with public intoxication
Colton ‘Colt’ Calloway was booked into the Metro Jail, and posted a $100 cash bond to secure his release.
