Larry Lemay, 47, is now charged with impersonating a police officer. He was booked into the Metro Jail just after lunch and has posted a $5,000 bond.

An investigation by East Precinct detectives led to today’s arrest of Larry Lemay, 47, who is accused of equipping his 2007 Chevrolet Impala with emergency equipment to aid in his impersonation of a police officer to pull a woman over on Dickerson Pike.

Lemay’s car has been impounded pending the execution of a search warrant for the interior.  Emergency type lighting equipment is visible through the windshield and rear window.

A Nashville woman reported she was pulled over by Lemay on June 23rd on Hart Lane near Dickerson Pike.  Before stopping, the woman said she heard what sounded like a siren and saw flashing white and blue lights coming from the Impala.  A man she later identified from a photo lineup as Lemay walked up to her driver’s door wearing a black security shirt and said that he stopped her for failure to yield the right of way.  The woman determined that Lemay was not a police officer and drove off.

Lemay, of Maplewood Trace, was arrested for criminal impersonation of a police officer in 2016.  He was convicted of a reduced charge and received a six-month sentence.   Anyone who has had a recent similar encounter with Lemay is asked to contact East Precinct Investigations at 615-862-7525
