The Tennessee Board of Nursing has suspended the license of Registered Nurse Ashley Hodges for unprofessional conduct after she admitted to diverting Fentanyl, Morphine, Hydromorphone, Propofol, Diprivan, and more from 3 hospitals, each of which fired her within a 7 month period.

Ashley Anne Hodges, of White House, TN, was granted a Registered Nurse license in July of 2017. Since then she has worked at various hospitals, to include Skyline Medical Center, Sumner Regional Medical Center, and St. Thomas West – all three of which terminated her.

According to a newly released Disciplinary Action Report, Hodges worked at Skyline Medical Center from July of 2017 – July 2018, when she was terminated. Following her July termination, she was hired as an RN at Sumner Regional Medical Center in the same month, where she worked a few weeks until her termination in August of 2018. St. Thomas West hired her in October of 2018, where she worked until January of 2019. According to the Board of Nursing, she has admitted to the following facts:

  • Skyline: withdrawing and ‘wasting’ (diverting) Hydromorphone 17 times in May 2018
  • Sumner Regional: Multiple instances of withdrawing Benadryl & Phenergan without physician’s orders – she was terminated after a drug screen was positive for benzodiazepines, opiates, and marijuana.
  • St. Thomas West: admitted to diverting morphine, Fentanyl, propofol, and Ativan. Having on her person: full syringes containing morphine and fentanyl, quetiapine tablets, a 50ml bottle of Diprivan, several vials of Benadryl and Zofran, a syringe with blood, and a tourniquet.

The Board of Nursing found Hodges guilty of unprofessional conduct, and have suspended her nursing license. She is eligible to submit to a TnPAP evaluation and monitoring agreement, if approved, to regain her license on a probationary status. A copy of the order is below:
