Chermercka Morgan and Robert Sharp are both charged with promoting prostitution after the pair were found to have driven a victim from city to city, taught her how to be a prostitute, how much to charge, managed her money and advertised her to clients.

Metro Nashville Police were dispatched to the La Quinta Inn & Suites on Atrium Way Thursday, for a possible human trafficking call. The victim disclosed to police she was being driven from city to city to perform sex acts, for which Robert Sharp collected the money she made from clients and kept it, working as her pimp. She was able to provide text messages and images from Sharp to support this, including texts to “make sure they’re not the police”, referring to the clients she was about to meet.

The victim also told police Chermercka Morgan instructed her on how to be a prostitute, including how much to charge, and purchased the room for her to work from. Morgan and Sharp fled the scene while detectives were with the victim, but were located a short distance away and stopped. During conversation, Morgan admitted to paying for the room in cash. A search of the vehicle also yielded a small amount of marijuana.

Robert L Sharp, 26, is charged with promoting prostitution, driving on a suspended license, and drug possession. He remains jailed in lieu of an $11,500 bond. Chermercka Morgan, 24, is charged with drug possession and promoting prostitution. She remains jailed in lieu of a $10,000 bond.
