Drew Button, 27, is in the Metro Jail, charged with multiple drug offenses after police found a combined 28 grams of both blue and pink heroin & 14 Xanax bars in his underwear and buttocks, per an arrest warrant.
Metro Nashville Police Officer Darryn Yentes observed Drew Button merge onto Old Hickory Blvd from Murfreesboro Pike on Monday, and nearly hitting his patrol car after running the yield to merge sign. The officer attempted a traffic stop, however, Button didn’t stop for nearly a quarter-mile.
Once he stopped the vehicle he was driving, he provided a TN ID only, which returned as a habitual motor offender for driving on a revoked license. After being taken into custody, Drew Button disclosed to the officer that he would find heroin, Xanax, and a needle during a search, and said they were in his underwear and buttocks. Upon search, 28 grams of heroin and 14 Xanax bars were found on his person, along with a scale and spoons in the backpack he claimed, and confirmed the residue on them was heroin. Button also explained that the heroin was two different types, both blue and pink.
Drew Button was charged with possession of heroin (15-149 grams), drug possession, possession of paraphernalia, and felony habitual driving offender. He remains jailed in lieu of a $15,000 bond.
