LEBANON, TN – Nashville socialite Jamie N. Brown, who is the ex-wife of famed music producer Tony Brown and the current two-week fiance of Bates Ford of Lebanon owner Tony Bates, was arrested and charged with domestic assault after she admitted to biting Bates as he tried to de-escalate an argument.
Lebanon Police responded to the home of Tony Bates on Leeville Pike in Lebanon on Thursday, July 25, 2019, to the report of a domestic disturbance. Officer Corley arrived and met with Bates Ford owner Tony Bates, who was in the driveway of the residence. He told police that he and his girlfriend, Jamie Brown, had been in a verbal argument inside the residence when she took his phone and threw it across the room. Bates said he wanted to de-escalate the situation and made his way outside to leave the residence.
As Bates was in his truck leaving the residence, he states that Jamie Brown jumped into the truck and bit him in the forearm, leaving clear and distinct bit marks, then fleeing the truck back inside the residence.
During an interview with police, Jamie brown stated that Bates is the one that threw his own phone, and choked her inside the residence. She did admit to biting Bates but claimed it was in self-defense. Officers could not find any signs of assault against her and determined her statements were inconsistent with the evidence, ruling her the primary aggressor.
Jamie Brown was taken into custody and charged with domestic assault. She was booked into the Wilson County Jail at 7:56 p.m., where she served the state-mandated 12-hour hold for domestic violence crimes and was released Friday morning at 07:42 a.m. on her own recognizance.
In 2017, Brown penned on her ‘View from the Pedestal’ social media account ” I wonder if the people who referred to me as a “trophy wife” ever stopped to think about who I really am inside. It seems to me that being a trophy is what other people aspired for me to be… I know that the real trophy lies in my kindness, compassion and helping others. “
