Man ‘doesn’t remember’ stealing landlord’s gift cards after roommate snitches on him

37-year-old Joshua Waishes told police he “didn’t remember doing it” – but a roommate says he witnessed Waishes steal gift cards from their landlord’s vehicle parked outside the home in the middle of the night.

Metro Police responded to the Ewingwood Drive home on July 24th, to the report of a motor vehicle burglary. The homeowner reports the rents out rooms in her home, and one tenant had witnessed a new tenant rummaging through the homeowner’s vehicle at 3:30 a.m. When the vehicle was checked later that morning, the homeowner reports approximately $200 in gift cards were found missing.

Waishes told police he “didn’t remember doing it”, and denied it when speaking to the homeowner. Waishes was charged with felony burglary of a motor vehicle and is free on a $2,500 bond.
