Nashville Bondsman charged with 100 THC cartridges & loaded handgun during traffic stop

Nashville Bail Bondsman Ron Sermons has been charged with felony drug possession with intent to distribute, and felony handgun possession, after he was found in possession of a backpack full of THC Cartridges and a loaded Glock on Briley Parkway.

Metro Nashville Police stopped 28-year-old Ronald Sermons on Briley Parkway on Thursday evening and during the traffic stop observed the smell of marijuana, according to an arrest report. Using this a probable cause, a vehicle search was conducted , and inside a backpack in the front passenger floorboard, officers located approximately 100 THC cartridges. Also in the vehicle was a .40 caliber Glock 23 with 13 rounds.

Sermons is listed as a bondsman with Wheeler Bonding in the most recent list we have from the Clerk’s office, however a representative of Wheeler Bonding advised they have recently ended their relationship with him due to financial and ethical issues. Ronald A. Sermons was charged with felony possession of a handgun during the commission of a felony, and felony drug possession with intent to distribute (total weight 156.77 grams). After being booked into the Metro Jail, he was given pre-trial release until his court date.
