30-year-old Mattie Lynn Breaux told Metro Police she had taken unprescribed hydrocodone and drank two beers before crashing her Honda Accord on I-24 at 2:17 a.m Monday morning. She is free on a $2,500 bond, charged with DUI.
Metro Nashville Police responded to the report of a single vehicle accident near the 52.2 mile marker on Interstate 24 Monday morning at 2:17 a.m. They located a 2016 white Honda Accord, driven by Mattie Lynn Breaux. The vehicle was on the concrete median, where she told police she crashed it. Police say she admitted to drinking ‘two beers’ and taking Hydrocodone that was ‘given to her by a friend’ before driving. She did not have a prescription for the Hydrocodone.
Breaux was transported to St. Thomas Midtown for minor injuries, where her blood was drawn as the result of a search warrant, granted after she refused to submit a sample on her own free will. Breaux did disclose to officers she had 2 prior DUI arrests in Louisiana, which they were able to confirm resulted in two different suspensions of her driver’s license.
Mattie Breaux was booked into the Metro Jail at 6:21 a.m. Monday morning, and posted a $2,500 bond later that evening, and released at 3:30 p.m. She is scheduled to appear in court in early September.
