19-year-old Ezekiel Mathis was booked into the Metro Jail Tuesday on several outstanding warrants, one of which alleges he sold a stolen iPad to an EcoATM in Antioch, using his own photo ID for the transaction. Other warrants charge him with fleeing from police in 2018, leaving a gun and stolen car behind.

Metro Police booked Ezekiel Lamont Mathis, Jr., into custody on August 6th on warrants charging him with theft of property, unlawful weapon possession, auto theft, and evading arrest. In 2018, Mathis used his own photo ID to sell a stolen iPad to an EcoATM, which immediately recognized the serial number as being reported stolen, and began the internal notification process to the owner/police. EcoATM was able to provide his information, a copy of his provided photo ID, and photos of him making the transaction.

In addition to the theft warrant, Mathis was wanted for fleeing from police in November when they attempted to stop a stolen vehicle which he was in. Officers detained the driver, but Mathis ran from them, leaving the driver, a stolen gun, and the stolen vehicle behind.

Ezekiel Mathis remains jailed in lieu of a $32,500 bond.
