29-year-old Tesniem Shinawi was arrested Friday, charged with an outstanding warrant for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. She is free on a $35,000 bond.
Tesniem Shinawi is now in custody, after Metro Police say she fled the scene of a crime in May. According to an arrest warrant, on May 25th, Shinawi was in a verbal altercation in the parking lot of the Easton Apartments on Due West Ave. North in Madison, with an adult and two juveniles when she retreated to her vehicle and retrieved a handgun.
In an attempt to pistol whip the adult male, she struck at his head with the gun in her hand, but missed and impacted his shoulder. The victim attempted to gain control of the handgun, however Shinawi is said to have returned to her vehicle and fled the scene. The argument began because the victim would not allow her to speak to his sister.
After being booked into the Metro Jail on the charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, Shinawi posed a $35,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court in late September.
