Metro Police say 29-year-old Zachary Tamburin approached them downtown in the early hours of Sunday morning, swaying, slurring, and not making any sense with his words. They took care of him, gave him a ride to jail, and charged him with public intoxication.

Officers near the intersection of 3rd & Demonbreun saw the male millennial approach them just before 3 a.m. Sunday morning, appearing intoxicated, with slurred speech and a swaying stance, in addition to smelling of alcohol. Though he was not making much sense with his words, the officer determined he was saying he lost his phone and needed help.

Officers asked if he wanted to file a report of the missing phone, or even needed assistance in getting a ride home, but Tamburin told them ‘no’ and began to ramble on about how his keys were all he had in his hands. He didn’t know if he had parked nearby or anywhere near the downtown area. Eventually, he was deemed to be a likely danger to himself or others due to his level of intoxication and was placed into custody and transported to booking at 3:06 a.m. He was released from custody at 10:14 a.m. Sunday morning.
