According to an arrest warrant, 23-year-old Eric Blivens was chasing his ex-girlfriend in a vehicle and texted her he was ‘Finna Start Shooting’. He then spoke to his ex-girlfriend’s grandmother on the phone, allegedly telling her that it turned him on when he assaults her granddaughter and she punches him back.
Metro Nashville Police responded to a ‘rolling domestic dispute’ on November 20th, at the Waffle House on W. Trinity Lane. The victim, Dareisha Morton, had called 911 to report she was being chased by her ex-boyfriend, identified as Eric Blivens. He was chasing her in a vehicle, and had texted her saying he was ‘FINNA START SHOOTING’. She told police the altercation started about 14 hours earlier when he gave her a ride to work and assaulted her inside a vehicle, and still had visible injuries from being punched in her head and leg.
Metro Police were able to conduct a traffic stop and detain both parties to investigate. They found that Blivens had chased her in a gold Pathfinder. The victim’s grandmother had spoken to Blivens earlier in the day during the altercation, and which time she says he told her he punched her granddaughter, and she hit him back, and he likes it because it turns him on. Blivens admitted to police he texted ‘IM FINNA START SHOOTING’ while chasing the victim in a vehicle.
Eric Blivens was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail and charged with domestic assault with bodily injury. He is free on a $5,000 bond, after serving the state-mandated 12-hour domestic violence hold. He is scheduled to appear in court on December 2nd.
