South Precinct detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the fatal shooting of a man whose body was discovered Saturday at 1:50 a.m. lying near garbage dumpsters at the Shadow Bluff Apartments, 221 Plus Park Boulevard.
Officers, who were working an apparent unrelated traffic crash nearby, were approached by a citizen who reported seeing the victim’s body while taking trash to the dumpster. The victim, who was carrying only a Trinidad-Tobago ID in his pocket, is tentatively identified as a 26-year-old man with a Murfreesboro Pike address. He had sustained a gunshot wound to his head and was deceased at the scene. Efforts continue to positively identify him and notify next of kin.
