Metro Police responded to Blairfield Drive in Antioch on November 30th, to find Ronnie Yates locked in his car in the driveway outside the home. He told officers he locked himself in the car to protect himself from his wife, Tawntane Yates [fb], who had tried to attack him with scissors and had captured some of the assault on video.

According to an arrest warrant, the 39-year-old Nashville realtor admitted to drinking alcohol in the night but denied having ever had scissors in her hands or attempting to stab her husband – despite the clear video that showed otherwise. Reportedly, the argument began as the husband had come home from work and was preparing to return to work when Tawntane got upset he was leaving again, and allegedly threw his belonging in the yard before grabbing two pairs of scissors from the kitchen and attempted to stab him.

Tawntane Yates was charged with felony aggravated domestic assault with a deadly weapon and was freed on a $10,000 bond after the state-mandated 12-hour hold.
