72-year-old man charged with assault of wife after Sunday church

72-year-old David Aldous is charged with the domestic assault of his wife. The couple was at Cici’s Pizza after church on Sunday, when she says he became aggressive. They later tried to get out of the car, at which time she says David struck her. He is free on a $1,500 cash bond.

Metro Nashville Police were dispatched to an Arby’s parking lot at 1779 Gallatin Pike Sunday in response to an ongoing domestic assault call. The wife of David Aldous told police the pair had been arguing since they left church earlier in the day. They attempted to stop and eat at Cici’s Pizza after church, however, she says David was being aggressive, and eventually struck her on the left arm. David says she was attempting to exit the car while before it fully stopped and that he was trying to prevent her from exiting the vehicle while it was moving.

Police determined David to be the primary aggressor, and he was transported to the Metro Nashville jail, and charged with domestic assault. He is free on a $1,500 cash bond.
