John Larson, 34, was charged with domestic assault and bringing contraband in a penal institution after he fought with his ex-girlfriend and brought 18.2 grams of methamphetamine into the Metro Nashville Jail during his arrest.

On January 6th, Metro Nashville police officers responded to a domestic assault on Gina Brooke Drive. Upon arrival, officers spoke with Melody McKeehan, the victim, who has a child with John Larson, the defendant. Melody told officers that John showed up to the house earlier that morning because he needed to sell a battery and wanted to know why she had moved his belongings out of the residence.

She went on to say that John started a verbal argument and followed her to the bedroom when she walked away. Melody stated that once in the bedroom John held her down on the bed by the back of her neck as he was still yelling about where the battery was. Melody found the battery under a pillow on the bed and John released her. Melody had red marks to the back and front of her neck consistent with her being grabbed. John had a scratch on the left side of his face. Melody said she did not know she had scratched him but the injury to John is consistent with a self-defense wound from Melody. John was arrested by MNPD and transferred to the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office custody. Upon DCSO searching him, they found 18.2 grams of crystal methamphetamine in his jacket.

John Larson was charged with domestic assault and for bringing contraband into a penal institution and is currently jailed in lieu of a $50,000.00 bond.
