Man charged with assault after throwing boot at Skyline Nurse

32-year-old Matthew Schmitt is charged with disorderly conduct and assault of a healthcare provider after he threw a boot at a nurse inside Skyline Medical Center.

Matthew Schmitt was a patient at Skyline ER. During his treatment, he became combative and also started yelling and disturbing other patients. Matthew then threw a boot at a nurse. Although the nurse was not injured, he did fear bodily injury.

Metro Officer Rob Croteau witnessed the incident. It was noted in the affidavit that Matthew’s behavior was preventing medical staff from treating other patients in the hospital at the time. Matthew was taken into custody and transported to booking.

Matthew Schmitt is charged with disorderly conduct and assault of a healthcare provider and is free on pre-trial release. He is scheduled to appear in court in February.
