24-year-old Lora K Johnson is charged with domestic assault after she admitted to punching her boyfriend, Markeese Hamilton, in the face. The deaf couple was in a disagreement over a work-related matter, leaving the boyfriend with a bloody lip and a swollen eye.
Metro Nashville Police responded to a Bell Rd. residence on January 13th, for a reported domestic disturbance. They met both parties, who are deaf, at the scene and communicated via texting. The victim relayed the pair was in an argument over a work-related matter which escalated when Lora Johnson punched him square in the face three times, causing swelling and bleeding.
During the altercation, Lora picked up a knife and indicated as if she were going to stab herself, according to an incident report. Her boyfriend received a small cut while trying to get the knife away from her. Lora Johnson relayed to the police “I didn’t mean it, I was just angry”, and admitted to punching the victim.
Lora K Johnson was charged with domestic assault and is free on a $1,500 bond.
