18-year-old Jaxon Thomas was charged with public intoxication and consumption of alcohol while under 21 after he was found attempting to get his friend out of a locked vehicle that was empty.

On March 15th, officers witnessed Jaxon Thomas pulling on a vehicle handle and walking around the vehicle as if he was lost. These events transpired near the intersection of 3rd Avenue South and Demonbreun Street. Upon contact, officers noticed Jaxon smelled of alcohol, had slurred speech, and was unsteady on his feet. When asked what he was doing, Jaxon said he was “trying to get his friend out of the car.”

Officers looked in the vehicle and there was no one inside. Jaxon then told police the vehicle was not his and officers asked him how much he had to drink. Jaxon told police that he had two or three cups of vodka but police discovered he was too young to legally consume alcohol. Police found Jaxon to be incapable of caring for himself due to his level of intoxication and was taken into custody.

Jaxon Thomas was arrested and charged with public intoxication and consumption of alcohol while under 21. He was later freed on pre-trial release.
