Dubious Nashvillian terrorizes and pilfers local Kroger stores

21-year-old Kristopher Johnson was charged with two counts of assault, evading arrest, and theft of merchandise after incidents involving shoplifting and assault at two Nashville Kroger stores.

On March 17th, officers were called to a Kroger located at 5544 Old Hickory Boulevard because shoplifters were assaulting an off duty security guard. According to affidavits, Kristopher Johnson fled the scene and hid in a gutter by the nearby O’Charleys. Police watched Johnson ascend from their hiding spot and turned on the cruiser lights prompting a pursuit of Johnson who was intercepted at the Exxon station located at 5430 Old Hickory Boulevard. Dorris Bethel identified Johnson as the perpetrator who she claimed ” body checked” her. There was $46.67 worth of items found in Johnson’s purse.

Johnson also had an outstanding charge for another assault at a different Kroger located at 711 Gallatin Avenue. On March 9th, manager Brent Stremel confronted Johnson knowing they had a history of shoplifting. According to that report, Johnson “struck plastic hand carts” causing them to visibly injure Mr. Stremel and once mid-flight turned back to kick him.

Kristopher Johnson was arrested and charged with two counts of assault, evading arrest, and theft of merchandise and their bond was set at $9,000. On March 23rd, Johnson was found guilty on charges of theft of merchandise and both counts of assault. The evading arrest charge was dismissed.
