21-year-old Skylar Wagner was charged with felon in possession of a firearm (drug offense), felon in possession of a handgun, possession of marijuana with intent, and possession of Xanax after police received a tip about individuals pointing guns at one another and gave a description of the vehicle.

On March 25th, Officers were patrolling the area of Trenton and Baton Rouge Drive after a call came in about individuals pointing guns at each other. The caller gave the description of a dark grey Nissan with window tints and said that an occupant of the vehicle was pointing a gun at someone else. An anonymous witness stated that a vehicle matching that description was parked in the back of an apartment complex. Upon making contact with the vehicle, officers removed the occupants from the vehicle to begin questioning.

Skylar Wagner exited the driver’s seat and police immediately smelled the odor of marijuana emitting from his person. A search of Skylar’s person uncovered a handgun in his right pocket, 2 Xanax bars, and a total of 10.9 grams of marijuana – 6.8 grams of which were individually packaged at 1.2 grams each for resale, according to the affidavit. Police also stated that “this is common practice with street-level sales of narcotics.” Skylar also admitted to being a felon when police found the handgun and this was confirmed through the arms database.

Skylar Wagner was arrested and charged with felon in possession of a firearm (drug offense), felon in possession of a handgun, possession of marijuana with intent, and possession of Xanax. His bond has been set at $11,100.
