Friends leave woman behind after she crashes car while driving under the influence, per affidavit

18-year-old Heliegh Allen was charged with DUI and implied consent after she was involved in a car accident near the intersection of Baxter Road and Sugar Lane.

On March 25th, officers responded to a vehicle accident in the area of Baxter Road and Sugar Lane. Upon arrival, officers observed Heliegh Allen speaking with medics outside of the vehicle and was obviously intoxicated, according to the affidavit. Heliegh had slurred speech, bloodshot watery eyes, and was unsteady on her feet. Heliegh was consistently forgetting conversations that occurred just minutes prior. While Heliegh was speaking to a friend on the phone, officers overheard her say she had two shots of fireball earlier that night. Heliegh was Mirandized shortly after, but still consented to speak with officers.

She then stated she drank less than a quarter bottle of Fireball. Heliegh went on to tell officers that her friends were driving behind her but left her when she crashed. Officers read Heliegh Tennessee’s Implied Consent Form and she refused to provide a breath sample or perform any aspects of the Standard Field Sobriety Test.

Heliegh Allen was arrested and charged with DUI and implied consent. Her bond was set at $1,500.
