36-year-old Bradley Walters was charged with leaving the scene of an accident, unlawful use of drug paraphernalia, and driving under the influence after fleeing from the scene of an accident and being found intoxicated with a marijuana grinder.

On March 9th, officers responded to a call regarding a hit and run. Angela Pritchard told police that a maroon pick-up truck with license plate number S3613X hit her vehicle and fled. A witness followed the truck to an apartment complex located at 6430 Charlotte Pike and informed dispatch.

When officers arrived at Views at Hillwood apartment complex, the driver was still in the vehicle with the keys in the ignition. Officers noted the truck had damage that supported the claims of the victim and witness, and the tags on it matched the number given by the victim.

Officers also noted their observation of Bradley having slurred speech, stumbling, and being confused with basic questions. Officers administered standard field sobriety tests and Bradley showed several signs of intoxication. Bradley denied consuming any medications, drugs, or alcohol. Officers discovered a marijuana grinder sitting in plain sight on the vehicle’s middle console. Bradley then consented to a blood draw for testing any drug use.

Bradley Walters was arrested and charged with leaving the scene of accident, unlawful use of drug paraphernalia, and driving under the influence of an intoxicant. He was freed on pre-trial release.
