18-year-old Cooper Knestrick is free on a $500 bond, after failing to book himself on an outstanding citation, which stated he told police “I think they put a gun in my waistband” after they responded to a robbery call during which Cooper told police he was robbed of his cell phone while buying marijuana.
Cooper Knestrick was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail just after 5 p.m. Tuesday after he failed to self-book on the outstanding citation from August, charging him with unlawful carrying/possession of a handgun.
According to the citation, Metro Nashville Police were dispatched to 4021 Hillsboro Pike in response to a robbery call. Cooper Knestrick, 18, told officers he was meeting a person to buy weed when they robbed him and took his cell phone. Knestrick then stated “I think they put a gun in my waistband” and consented to a search of his person. Officers retrieved a .25 cal handgun in Knestrick’s waistband. He was issued a citation, for which he eventually failed to appear to be booked.
Knestrick was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail and later released on a $500 bond. He is scheduled to appear in court in April.
