The officer approached Cordova and commanded him to stop, in which he complied. The officer noticed a strong smell of alcohol coming from his person, along with slurred speech, bloodshot eyes, and he was staggering as he walked. Cordova admitted to officers that he had fought with security, but it was because they started it.

Based on Cordova’s level of intoxication and the statements made by both parties, officers noted there was probable cause that Cordova was intoxicated. When officers commanded Cordova to place his hands behind his back, he refused to comply. Officers then grabbed his arms and attempted to place them behind his back, Cordova tried to separate his arms and actively resisted.

Cordova Ocegueda was arrested and charged with Public Intoxication and Resisting Arrest. His bond was set at $1,000.
