Nashville man transporting a quarter pound of marijuana charged with DUI

24-year-old Boris Koprivica was charged with DUI and possession of marijuana with intent after he was pulled over for speeding and police found a quarter pound of marijuana in his vehicle.

On March 14th, police were running stationary radar on Highway 12 at River Trace Road when a vehicle was observed traveling at a high rate of speed. The vehicle was confirmed to be traveling at 76 mph in a 55 mph zone. Police then initiated a traffic stop and the driver was identified as Boris Koprivica. Officers noted that while speaking with Boris, the odor of marijuana could be smelled emitting from the vehicle. Boris was reported to have bloodshot glassy eyes and slurred speech.

Officers observed a “marijuana pipe” in the driver side floorboard and Boris handed the officer approximately 2 grams of marijuana from the center console. During a search of the vehicle, three sandwich bags with marijuana were discovered and the total weight of marijuana found was 4 ounces. Officers also found scales in the center console as well. The field sobriety test was performed at booking because of the rain but Boris performed poorly in multiple aspects of the test.

Boris Koprivica was arrested and charged with DUI and possession of marijuana with intent. His bond was set at $3,000.
