Teen charged while being served warrant for similar charges

18-year-old Trevor Birdwell was charged with unlawful use of drug paraphernalia and unlawful possession of a controlled substance while being served warrants for almost identical charges.

On March 2nd, Officer Jessica Gistarb was at the America’s Best Value Inn on Rivergate Parkway attempting to serve active out of county warrants for Trevor Birdwell. Upon entering Room 142, the strong odor of marijuana was immediately evident. Officers observed seven blunts on a nightstand and asked Trevor if there was any more marijuana in the room. He admitted to having a bag on a table and officers plainly observed three additional bags on another table.

Trevor was Mirandized and agreed to additional questioning, at which point he allowed officers to search a safe in the room. After the search concluded they had found almost 60 grams of marijuana and three grinders with residue. Trevor denied he was selling narcotics, but admitted he purchased the weed from outside city limits and all of it was for personal consumption.

Trevor Birdwell was arrested and charged with Unlawful Use of Drug Paraphernalia and Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance. He was held in lieu of a $3,500 bond and additionally had an out of county hold on his release from Williamson County.
