57-year-old Donna Schlemmer was charged with domestic assault after a fight involving her husband on the drive home from a poker game.

On March 2nd, officers were called to the Shell gas station located at 8020 McCrory Lane to investigate a domestic disturbance. Upon their arrival, Donna Schlemmer explained that she and husband Anthony Schlemmer had an argument in their vehicle that became physical. She told officers they “just started hitting each other” and that her husband had told her to exit the vehicle before driving away from the scene. Donna had a bruise on the knuckle of her fifth digit but she was unsure if it was from being hit or from her hitting him.

While Donna was being questioned, Anthony returned to look for her. Officers began talking with Anthony, who argued that Donna had told him to pull over so she could get out of the vehicle. More importantly, he stated that his wife had struck him in his face with a closed fist while he was driving. He also said the assault had progressed to a point where he was compelled to stop the vehicle. Officers observed a bruise on Anthony’s right cheek and a small cut on his arm. These injuries, coupled with their statements, led investigators to classify the wife as the assailant and her husband the victim.

Donna Schlemmer was arrested and charged with Domestic Assault. Her bond was set at $1,000.
