22-year-old Tatiana Barton was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after she punched her girlfriend in the face and then attempted to run her over. Tatiana had an outstanding warrant for vandalism after having a domestic dispute in November with the same person.
On March 6th, Amber Word told officers that she and girlfriend Tatiana Barton were involved in an argument over a mechanic refusing to give Tatiana information over the phone about Amber’s vehicle. Amber stated Tatiana became angry and punched her in the face. Amber went on to say that after she was struck she exited the vehicle and began running away. Tatiana also exited the vehicle and gave chase but turned back around, hopped in the car, and accelerated toward Amber as if she was going to run her over. Amber jumped out of the way and was able to avoid being hit. Officers observed a bruise on the right side of Amber’s face consistent with her story. There is a documented history of domestic violence with the couple.
On November 20th, police were dispatched to Cedarmont Circle in reference to a domestic call. Amber, who was the victim of this series of events as well, told police that she and Tatiana had been arguing and she asked Tatiana to leave. Tatiana complied with her request but minutes later, Amber heard a loud knock at the door and knew that it was Tatiana on the other side. Amber refused to answer the door because she did not wish to argue anymore, according to the affidavit. Tatiana then began to kick the door until the door frame broke and the door swung open. Tatiana then re-entered the residence and said she forgot her charger. She grabbed her charger from the bedroom and fled the scene. Amber’s mother also witnessed the events that transpired. Tatiana was not present when officers arrived.
On March 17th, Tatiana Barton was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and vandalism. Her bond was set at $26,000.
