He states the couple got into an argument over his alleged cheating, and Sara pushed him and slapped him in the face, before grabbing a steak knife and slicing his left arm and scratching him on the chest.

Officers viewed his injuries, to include scratches on his upper lip, a 1-inch laceration on his left arm, and scratches on his chest. His girlfriend, Sara Smith, was taken into custody and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

The affidavit notes the officers sought approval from Sgt. Watkins before making the custodial arrest, but does not note why his approval was required. Smith was booked and later released on a $5,000 bond.
