Madison man charged with DUI after vehicle crash

23-year-old Damian Drury was charged with DUI after he was involved in a vehicle accident, performed poorly on a field sobriety test, and blew a .155 on the breathalyzer test.

On March 29th, police were dispatched to 1500 Turner Street in reference to a vehicle accident. When police arrived, contact was made with Damian Drury and questions regarding the accident ensued. During questioning, Damian admitted to being drunk and after being Mirandized stated that he had been drinking earlier in the afternoon.

Damian agreed to perform a standard field sobriety test and did poorly during the first portions, where he then refused to complete the second half. Officers noted that Damian smelled of alcohol, was unsteady on his feet, and was slurring his speech. Damian was then read implied consent and agreed to provide a breath sample that read .155g/210L.

Damian Drury was arrested and charged with DUI. He was later freed on pre-trial release.
