Man charged with assault for pushing girlfriend into door

32-year-old Matthew Hoggatt was charged with domestic assault after he pushed his girlfriend into a door during an argument, per the affidavit.

On March 21st, police made contact with Megan Barr and Matthew Hoggatt who had been involved in a domestic dispute. Megan told police that she had gotten into an argument with her boyfriend Matthew and it escalated physically. Megan stated that Matthew pushed her into a door as he was heading to the balcony at their apartment.

Courtney, the witness, reportedly, observed the push and told police that Matthew became “overly aggressive very quickly.” Officers observed a bruise on Megan’s left arm which was a result of Matthew pushing her into the door, per the affidavit. Police determined Matthew to be the primary aggressor.

Matthew Hoggatt was arrested and charged with domestic assault. His bond was set at $1,000.
