Nashville man angered with son’s questions, charged with assault

39-year-old Samir Nagi was charged with domestic assault after he pushed his son down and shoved his face away because he was being asked questions about a recent hospital visit.

On March 31st, police were dispatched to Wellmoor Court in reference to a domestic incident. Sulaiman Murshed stated that he attempted to speak with his father, Samir Nagi, about the reason for his hospital visit earlier that day. Samir became upset and pushed Sulaiman, per the affidavit. Then Samir sat down on the couch and Sulaiman leaned over to speak with him in an attempt to calm him but was pushed away by his face.

Sulaiman then called the police. Samir told police that he and Sulaiman had gotten into an argument because his son was accusing him of being on drugs. Samir admitted to pushing Sulaiman and police observed some scratches and a bruise on Sulaiman’s face. Sulaiman did not wish to prosecute but police prosecuted on his behalf due to visible injuries.

Samir Nagi was arrested and charged with domestic assault. His bond was set at $1,000.
