79-year-old Carmal Burris Jr. was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after he attacked his neighbor with a metal pole for urinating in his own yard, per report.

On April 1st, police were dispatched to Marauder Drive in reference to an assault. Carmal Burris Jr yelled at his neighbor Carson Strawbridge for urinating in his backyard. Carmal told Carson that he was going to “kick his ass.” Carson observed Carmal come out of his garage with a 6-foot metal pole and walk onto his property. Carson stated that he grabbed a pick-ax from his shed and rested it on his shoulder as Carmal approached. The two exchanged words and Carson told Carmal not to hit him with the pole but Carmal swung at him anyway.

Carson blocked the attack with his pick-ax and Carmal followed up with another swing. Carson thwarted the attempt, took a step back and told Carmal to begone from his land. A final attempt to strike Carson was made but Carmal came up short and began to return to his residence.

While walking away, Carmal stated that he would get his gun and shoot Carson, per the affidavit. Carmal admitted to grabbing the pole, journeying to Carson’s property and dueling with Carson who, by Carmal’s account, had a garden hoe. Carmal told police he was upset with Carson for always urinating in his backyard. According to the affidavit, Carson has a video of the incident.

Carmal Burris Jr. was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. His bond was set at $5,000.
