Car pursuit begins in Nashville when man is found driving stolen vehicle

26-year-old Rodney Patterson was charged with theft of property, possession of marijuana, and evading arrest after he stole a vehicle and when cops caught up to him, he evaded arrest in a car pursuit.

On May 12th, officers were alerted that a stolen Nissan Sentra pulled out from the airport terminal building that belonged to Enterprise Car Rental. Rodney Patterson drove the car southbound on Donelson Pike when officers made their way behind the vehicle to confirm from running the plates that it was stolen. When officers performed a traffic stop at Knapp Blvd and Donelson Pike intersection, he drove off.

Police chased him through a red light on Murfreesboro Pike and Donelson Pike intersection then Patterson brought the vehicle to a stop. He was then taken into custody. The vehicle’s approximate value is $12,000. When the vehicle was searched, officers found marijuana in the front seat of the vehicle.

Rodney Patterson was arrested and charged with theft of property, possession of marijuana, and evading arrest. His bond was set at $42,000.
