28-year-old Rachel Diller was charged with two counts of child abuse and neglect after police discovered that she left her two children, ages 8 and 6, unattended on a consistent basis while leaving for work in Nashville.
On May 17th, Officer Martin was dispatched regarding a complaint that two children were left alone on multiple occasions when their mother left for work. On arrival, Martin confirmed the ages of the described children when they answered the door. Both kids confirmed that no there was no adult supervision among them and that their mother, Rachel Diller, was working in Nashville.
While their mother was not present at the home, she did leave the children a phone in order to contact her. Diller had failed to answer the phone when the children attempted to call. Following questions to both the children and local residents, Martin discovered that the mother had left the two alone frequently without any adult presence.
Rachel Diller was arrested and charged with non-violent child abuse and neglect. Her bond was set at $20,000.
