21-year-old Cameron Burton and 24-year-old Skyla Serio were charged with three counts of possession of a weapon during a dangerous felony, possession of heroin with intent, possession of meth with intent, and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia after officers found weapons, heroin, and methamphetamine in their hotel room.

On May 2nd, police were dispatched to La Quinta Inn at 120 South Cartwright Street, where the hotel staff was told that there were occupants who were still in the room after mandatory check out time. When the police checked the room, Skyla Serio answered the door and said that her boyfriend Cameron Burton was also inside. Skyla invited the officers in, who conducted a sweep and found an SKS rifle with a 75 round drum magazine, a .22 long rifle revolver, and a Smith and Wesson semiautomatic handgun.

Officers also found 4 grams of brown heroin, sandwich baggies of methamphetamine, and a scale with narcotic residue. A blender with a white powdery substance and an ice bucket filled with Benefiber was used as a common cutting agent with heroin is consistent with street-level selling of narcotics. Both defendants stated they knew about everything in the room. Burton agreed to let police search his phone and found text messages containing him in pictures with the weapons and narcotics.

Cameron Burton and Skyla Serio were both arrested and charged with three counts of possession of a weapon during a dangerous felony, possession of heroin with intent, possession of meth with intent, and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia. Their bonds were set at $53,000 each.
