Disorderly woman punches and kicks officer while being detained

21-year-old Jameiko Shaw was charged with assault on an officer, disorderly conduct, and public intoxication after she was reported for causing a scene and making suicidal statements over the phone to her friend. She then punched and kicked an officer while trying to detain her to get her medical attention.

On May 17th, police responded to the intersection of McMurray Drive and Woodlett Drive to find the defendant, Jameiko Shaw, making suicidal statements over the phone to her friend. When police made contact with the victim she became disorderly by yelling and causing a scene. Police tried to detain Shaw to help her seek medical attention and she assaulted Officer Bruce by punching him in his chest and kicking him as he tried to place cuffs on her.

Once in the car, after they detained her she started kicking a window in the patrol car, so they had to hobble her to keep her from hurting herself. The officers stated that during the interaction they could smell a clear odor of alcohol on her breath. They placed her into custody out of fear that she would hurt herself or others.

Jameiko Shaw was arrested and charged with public intoxication, disorderly conduct, and assault. Her bail was set at $2,700.
