46-year-old Chad Shock was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon when three people told police he was drinking beer, talking about being a marine, swinging around a hatchet, and threatening to kill them.
On April 24th, officers were dispatched to the Shelby Street Pedestrian Bridge for reports of a man “swinging a knife around.” Three individuals told authorities that a white male claiming to be a Marine and drinking beers threatened them.
After getting much too close to one of the victims they pushed Chad Shock away prompting him to pull out a hatchet. According to the affidavit, Shock was slashing the hatchet through the air toward them while saying “I will fucking kill you bitch.” Officers found Shock sitting on the bridge drinking a forty.
Chad Shock was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He is currently jailed in lieu of a $15,000 bond.
