McClung confessed to using narcotics and overdosing behind the wheel and “regretted using the drugs due to his previous sobriety.” He then agreed to a blood test. Despite having a previous DUI offense in Arkansas, the charge was over 10 years ago, leaving it outside the period of conviction. The offense counts as McClung’s first in the state.

Shannon McClung was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and unlawful possession of a controlled substance. He was later freed on pre-trial release.
