Nashville man beats and threatens nine-year-old son at knifepoint for losing wallet

36-year-old Rolando Caal was charged with assaulting his nine-year-old son at knifepoint for losing his wallet that had almost $2,000 inside, per report.

On May 3rd, officers dispatched to 108 Thompson Lane because an emergency call saying that Rolando Caal was holding his son at knifepoint. When officers arrived at the residence, Rolando locked himself and his son in the bathroom. Under the circumstances, the police officers deemed it necessary to gain entry to the bathroom to separate the father and son out of fear for the victim’s life.

Two witnesses, as well as the victim, said Rolando became angry when the victim lost his wallet with nearly $2,000 inside. Rolando physically attacked his son with his fists then pulled a knife on him threatening to kill him because “he is worthless”, per the report. Also, the defendant admitted to drinking alcohol. The witnesses told the police that without their involvement that they genuinely feared that he would have killed the victim.

Rolando Caal was arrested and charged with aggravated assault. His bond was set at $25,000.
