Ginia’s daughter Kaylie Zamagne told police that she heard her mother and Douglas arguing from her bedroom and then heard what sounded like a struggle. Kaylie said she then found Ginia and Douglas in the kitchen and witnessed him with his hands around her mother’s neck. She then pushed Douglas off her mother, which ended the altercation.

Ginia told police she believed that had Kaylie not gotten involved, Douglas would have killed her. Officers noted that Ginia was then taken to the hospital for an evaluation due to her having a recent neck surgery.

Douglas Finneran was arrested and charged with aggravated assault by strangulation. His bond was set at $10,000.
