In response, Jordan said that it was 8:00 and he didn’t want to talk about it at that point in time. Esther said she then got upset and knocked a few items off the bed next to him. Jordan then got up, put his hands on her throat, and pinned her up against the wall. She claimed the incident caused her to have trouble breathing, she was light-headed, and dizzy.

Officers noted when they attempted to speak with Jordan, he was not there. They went outside where he was supposed to be and was found hiding under a balcony. While in custody, Jordan told police that Esther knocked items down and he admitted to putting his hands on her.

Jordan Smith was arrested and charged with aggravated assault by strangulation. His bond was set at $8,000.
