25-year-old Chanteal Hampton was charged with domestic assault with a deadly weapon after she pulled a knife on her child’s father and held it to his throat during an argument they had about their child’s behavior.
On May 21st, officers responded to a call at 918 1st Avenue regarding a person with a knife. According to the affidavit, Chanteal Hampton and Norman Hoyle fought over their child. The child had been misbehaving that day, so Hampton called out of work.
When the argument worsened, Hampton went into Hoyle’s room and held a knife to his throat. Hoyle then called police and Hampton admitted to putting a knife to Hoyle’s throat.
Chanteal Hampton was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Her bond was set at $5,000 and was then forfeited the next day.
