Nashville woman tells police, “I’m glad you were there to watch me slap him in the face”

26-year-old Samantha Lamagna was charged with assaulting her boyfriend in downtown Nashville in front of police officers.

On May 17th, at 2:57 a.m., Samantha Lamagna walked up to public works employees at 105 Broadway and walked away. Metro officers followed her. While they were assessing the situation, she walked up to Brelan Hurst and hit him. Lamagna told officers that Hurst was her roommate. But officers determined they were actually in a relationship.

According to the affidavit, Lamagna offered up several statements to the officers, unprompted by questioning. “I should have broken his jaw. … He deserved it. … I don’t care. … Yes, I slapped him in the face. … I’m glad you were there to watch me slap him in the face. …” Lamagna said.

Hurst was charged with domestic violence in a separate incident on February 16th, 2020, and was released in lieu of a $2,500 bond.

Samantha Lamagna was arrested and charged with domestic assault. She was released in lieu of a $1,000 bond.
