33-year-old Tara Jordan was charged with DUI, implied consent, and driving on a suspended license after she was found unresponsive in her car with a passenger stating that she took her medication to help with addiction and drank a mixed drink.

On May 13th, officers were dispatched to Food Lion at 940 Richards Road where they found two unresponsive people inside of a vehicle parked in the lane of travel. Nashville Fire was already there and said the car was still on when they got there and they turned the vehicle off. NFD also said that they made several attempts to wake the defendant, Tara Jordan, and the passenger up but to no avail.

When they did finally wake up they were transported to the hospital where they refused treatment and had no need for Narcan. The police made contact with the defendant who they described to be visibly drunk. Jordan stated that she was only just trying to get home.

She said that she and the passenger took their prescribed medicine for her “problems with addiction” before she drank some mixed drinks. Police did a sobriety test when they noticed that she was falling out of the ambulance, spoke loudly with slurred speech, and couldn’t keep her eyes open. They stated that she performed poorly on all tasks, and when they checked her license it was suspended. When police read her implied consent she refused to answer and kept talking about going to church and spinning on a ceiling fan. She finally refused to provide a sample.

Tara Jordan was arrested and charged with DUI, implied consent, and driving on suspended license. She was later freed on pre-trial release.
